DMG MORI presents the Sprint 32-8 automatic lathe equipped with a SwissTypeKit, enabling machining of both short and long components. To achieve setup times less than 30 min., the machine’s spindle stroke extends from 4" to 10". According to the company, an optional quick-change tool system further reduces setup time by 20 percent. The compact lathe offers a large work area for workpieces ranging to 1.3" in diameter to 23.6" long.
The lathe features an additional Y axis for the second tool carrier in addition to a C axis for the counter spindle. The lathe is equipped with a total of six linear axes, two C axes and 28 tool pockets on three independent carriers, enabling four-axis machining on the main spindle. Eight of the toolstations accommodate driven tools, including four on the second tool carrier for rear-side machining. Two stationary deep-hole drill tool pockets are available on the main spindle and can also be driven as an option.
