EWS Multiform is an addition to the company’s standard line of driven tools for CNC lathes. It is designed to create a variety of internal shapes by using the driven tool motor on a CNC lathe. The Multiform will produce hexagons, squares, polygons, and other shapes with standard cutting tools that are readily available. It uses an internal cam disc that is designed and manufactured to the customer’s specific application. This approach enables customers to design internal features into their products that would normally require several operations to manufacture. By using the Multiform to cut the features in one step, customers can pursue potential design features previously not economically feasible, the company points out.
