IMTS 2016—the largest manufacturing technology show in North America—marks the 31st year the event has been held. More than 2,000 exhibiting companies will gather at the McCormick Place complex in Chicago, occupying 1.3 million net square feet of exhibit space. IMTS is held every even-numbered year and attracts some 100,000 buyers and sellers from more than 112 countries.
For ease of navigation, exhibits are organized in pavilions that are geared toward specific industries, technologies and solutions. They include:
- Metal Cutting
- Tooling/Workholding Systems
- Abrasive Machining/Sawing/Finishing
- Controls and CAD/CAM
- EDM Equipment
- Gear Generation
- Machine Components/Cleaning/Environmental and Quality Assurance
Attendees from around the world visit IMTS to see more than 15,000 new machine tools, controls, computers, software, components, systems and processes that can improve their efficiency. These manufacturing professionals not only come to look and learn… they come to buy.
The IMTS Conference also presents an outstanding opportunity for both networking and taking advantage of educational sessions. Real-world solutions for meeting production challenges are exchanged among colleagues, resulting in fresh perspectives on how to streamline and energize their businesses.
Complementing the exhibits displayed on the show floor, conference sessions explore innovative technologies, business development and optimization, and workforce efficiency and productivity. Special emphasis is placed on ways to stay focused on reaching both short- and long-term goals. Topic tracks will include the TRAM Aerospace Conference, the Additive Manufacturing Conference, and the Global Automation & Manufacturing Summit.
