Attendees at PMPA’s National Technical Conference learned that the demographic changes in our workforce are having a powerful effect on how the people in our shops find the information they need. There is no space or time for personal libraries in today’s manufacturing environment. Access to information must be instantaneous and searches easy, regardless of the material or topic.

PMPA created the blog pmpaSpeakingOfPrecision.com to capture industry knowledge about critical issues and make it easily available to you three times each week. This information is foundational, but not necessarily easy to locate online.

We put this data in our blog so it can be easily found. It also ensures that your time spent with the blog results in useful information relevant to your business. Think of our blog as a library of knowledge that can make a difference in your shop that can be easily found, no matter who is looking for it.

The upper right hand corner of the PMPA blog has a search box.
If you type in a word or term about our industry and we’ve written about it, the page will come back with a number of blogs that relate to that topic. “Hardness,” “hardenability,” “understanding the North American steel grade system,” “the role of austenitic grain size” and “weldability” are just a few
of the metallurgical topics we have already covered.

We have also already written about developments in markets (heavy truck, medical and aerospace, among others). The latest news, regulatory issues, economic and political developments that affect our industry are presented, too—all with no advertisements and no spam. Type in “China currency,” “market recovery” or “forklift compliance” in our blog’s search box, and you’ll get our take on these topics that affect our shops.

We aren’t writing War and Peace on the blog. We respect your time. We respect your craft. We’re just trying to give you your three-times-a-week sampling of what’s important for you to know so you can stay globally competitive and sustainable.

Check out the PMPA blog today. In the search box, type in any of the above topics or any others in which you’re interested. We want you to think of our blog as a storehouse of answers. We think of it as the perfect vehicle for knowledge retention and access.Want to see our most popular post? Go here: tinyurl.com/y2htwjb. We’re pmpaSpeakingOfPrecision.com. Check us out!
