The Flymill vertical spindle five-axis bridge machining center series is designed to offer users a wide working range within a limited factory space. The series consists of four models: Flymill 1000 (39.4"), 1300 (51.1"), 1600 (63") and 2000 (78.7"), named according to the working capacity of the Z-axis in mm.
The machines are available in three different X-axis capacities, measuring 98.4" (2,500 mm), 157.5" (4,000 mm) and 137.8" (3,500 mm), while standard Y-axis travels vary between 78.7" (2,000 mm) and 315" (8,000 mm). According to the company, the large-capacity work table, rigid structure and large working range make the series ideal for machining large, single workpieces as well as time-sensitive production machining operations.
The machining center is outfitted with a 40-kW power continuous C-axis direct-drive head with rotation speeds ranging to 100 rpm, and A-axis rotation of -105 degrees to + 120 degrees, enabling the machine to perform complex 3D and five-axis machining.
The flexible series is suited for aerospace, automotive, die and mold, precision machining and power-generation applications. It can be configured with dust extraction systems, tool magazines from 30 to 150 tools, complete machine enclosure, laser probing, laser tool presetting and complete turnkey solutions.
