This year's Management Update was held in San Antonio.

At the end of February, the PMPA (Precision Machined Products Association) featured its Management Update conference in San Antonio, Texas. Just a couple hundred yards from the Alamo, the hotel offered nice accommodations for an event that included great networking opportunities and an outstanding lineup of speakers.

After a welcome reception on the evening of February 26, the conference sessions opened the next morning with a very positive economic analysis by Brian Beaulieu, CEO of ITR Economics. He foresees strong production numbers for the remainder of the year, with positive trends continuing through 2017.

Other large-group sessions included presentations with deep management insights from Richard Sheridan, CEO of Menlo Innovations, David Marquet, retired naval officer and author of Turn the Ship Around!, and growth expert Mike Machalowicz, who associates business growth with the methodology of growing colossal pumpkins.

Afternoon breakout sessions consisted of a series of speakers who addressed such topics as the skilled labor shortage, disaster preparedness, social media marketing, health care costs, and creative leadership.

Typical of PMPA conferences, this year’s Management Update addressed its audience with highly appropriate content to help attendees improve their businesses. These events are well attended for good reason.
