Can't Wait for 2017

For the New Year, I wish all of you a happy and healthy 2017. Thank you for your support of Production Machining, and I certainly hope to see you at PMTS in April.

This year started out pretty good for me and my family. In June, we took a family vacation to England, where my youngest son was living, then onto Italy and Greece. We had a ball. It was the first time overseas for my wife, daughter and oldest son. I really enjoyed watching the newbies experience Europe for the first time.

However, 2016 took a terrible turn that we’re still trying to deal with. We got back around mid-June and my wife went to her doctor for pain in her stomach. They found ovarian cancer, and she had major surgery within a week. The fond memories of Europe quickly faded as we worked through recovery from surgery.

Once sufficiently healed from her surgery, she began chemotherapy in early August. Because of this, I missed my first IMTS since 1980, but caring for my wife is what I signed up for in 1979 when we married. We finished the chemo on December 6 after 18 treatments. It was difficult, but our family is stronger for having endured this terrible thing.

For the New Year, I wish all of you a happy and healthy 2017. Thank you for your support of Production Machining, and I certainly hope to see you at PMTS in April.
