Description: The conference is aimed at helping area manufacturers convert their shops from automotive to medical component work. The event is specifically developed for metalcutting shops that want to diversify into the medical manufacturing arena. This conference will provide a roadmap to attendees on the opportunities in medical manufacturing as well as the tools needed and resources available to help with the change.
Presenters at the event include representatives from the Oakland County and Michigan Economic Development Corporations (OEDC and MEDC), Congressman Gary Peters spokesperson, machine tool manufacturer Mazak, CAD/CAM specialist Delcam, as well as medical industry specialists and medical manufacturing companies.Additionally, between presentations, there will be a mini-trade show and live medical component machining demonstrations taking place in the Seco Technical Center.
This is the second in a series of Seco seminars presenting diversification strategies for metalcutting manufacturers. Over 50 machine shop owners and representatives attended the Seco Tools "Tooling up for Wind Power Generation" conference last year.The company was lauded for its efforts by Cindy Douglas, Vice President of Business Development and Attraction, MEDC, who stated, "I don’t know of another company doing anything like this, I applaud Seco Tools for this effort."
