Emco Maier Corporation, a subsidiary of the Emco group, named John Roasa president and CEO of Emco Maier Corp. Mr. Roasa joined the company as sales manager in 2004 and was promoted to vice president of sales in 2006. Before leading the sales team and dealer network, he was general manager of the Indiana office with Yamazen. Mr. Roasa’s career in the machine tool industry started 36 years ago at Cincinnati Milacron. Index Corp. has appointed Jeffrey Reinert as CEO, succeeding Olaf Tessarzyk, who has left the company. Mr. Reinert has more than 20 years of experience in the machine tool industry and sold Index products from 1986 until 1992. Manchester Tool Co. has closed operations in suburban Akron, where it has made machine and cutting tools since 1951, according to The Plain Dealer. The company said 87 workers will lose their jobs. Included are 66 members of the United Steelworkers of America and 21 salaried office workers. IEMCA has hired a new vice president of sales and marketing, John Schwartz, who brings almost 20 years of industry experience to the position. Mr. Schwartz spent almost 5 years with Okuma, preceded by 5 yeras in distribution sales at Ellison, 4 years at Joachim Machinery, a division of Gosiger, and almost 5 years at Honeywell. The company has also joined Partners in THINC, Okuma America’s collaborative development program.
