Liebherr’s Rotary Loading System (RLS) offers entry into high-efficiency production with one or two machining centers, promoting machine utilization of more than 90 percent, according to the company. The system features two models and is designed for workpiece weights as heavy as 800 kg for the RLS 800 or 1,500 kg for the RLS 1500. The product can be used in machining workpieces with dimensions as large as 1,300 mm.

The system is an entry-level solution for users with batch sizes 1 and above. It can also be applied to small-batch manufacturers or tool- and die-makers who manufacture individual components with long running and setup times, the company says. In each of these cases, the integration of an automation system is said to facilitate higher machine tool productivity as well as streamlined management of equipment and workpieces by utilizing machines effectively.
