Yarde Metals, Inc. promoted Matthew L. Smith to chief operating officer. He joined the company in 1998 at its East Hanover, New Jersey, branch where he began on the ground floor of operations. Prior to being named COO, Mr. Smith served as vice president of operations. In his new position, he will oversee the company’s sales, operations and human resources departments.
