Automatic Gaging Products For Automatic Machines

The Detector automatic gaging products work inside the machine to measure each part as it is being machined. Often, parts can be measured during indexing and action can be taken to divert a bad part without stopping the machine. If a bad part is detected, the part can be diverted from the production stream or the process can be stopped until the problem is identified and corrected.

The Detector PC2003 gage controller is available in single and dual-channel models. The dual channel model can save investment costs when two gages are used in the same machine. The gages can be used independently or in a combination.

Here are some of the features to allow users to install and operate these systems: the nominal dimension for a good part can be set to the actual print dimension or to zero; the gage can be calibrated automatically or manually in the machine; there is password protection to prevent unauthorized settings; and part counting is included for total parts actually measured as well as the totals for undersize and oversize parts.

Also available are attachments for mulit-spindle automatics.

Flexible Gage Software Integrates with CNC Machine Tools

EMO 2017: Renishaw will exhibit its software for the Equator flexible gauge, which allows users to fully integrate the system with CNC machine tools, its contact scanning system for CNC machine tools, its on-machine and mobile apps which are designed to simplify the use of machine tool probing, an enhanced non-contact tool setter for machining centers, a multi-probe optical interface system, a surface finish probe for coordinate measuring machines, and software that enhances the functionality of Renishaw’s XM-60 multi-axis calibration system.
