Mastercam's Feature Based Machining (FBM) automates the machining process. It offers shops speed improvements and allows for reductions in programming time, the company says. The program automatically evaluates the part and program pockets, contours, bosses and drilling routines with minimal user input.

The Mastercam for SolidWorks add-in is also available. It is fully integrated CAM that runs in SolidWorks. SolidWorks users can program their parts directly within SolidWorks using Mastercam's toolpaths and machining strategies.
