The Kalamazoo Machine Tool Model KS600 semi-automatic band saw is designed for production sawing of solids and structural shapes as large as 20” at 90 degrees in full cycle, semi-automatic operation. The saw offers double mitering as high as 60 degrees either left or right. The blade speed is infinitely variable, from 60 to 360 fpm, to enable the operator to adjust the cutting speed for optimal sawing of the material. The saw frame is canted 5 degrees to easily cut through the bottom of a structural section without vibration or slowdown of the sawing rate.

The band saw features massive components for solid, vibration-free production cutting, fully hydraulic operation and a free-standing operator console that may be placed in the desired location. When the operator pushes a single button, the saw frame automatically senses the material size and makes the cut at the preset rate, then automatically returns to clear the workpiece. Then the vise opens, ready for the next cut. This enables exceptionally fast production sawing, the company says.
