LNS has added three bar feeders to its Alpha series: the Alpha SL65 S, ST320 S2 and ST212 S2.

The Alpha SL65 S is a short loader for bars with diameters ranging from 0.250" to 2.625" (6 to 67 mm) and length ranging from 12" to 61" (300 to 1,550 mm), though not to exceed the overall spindle length. The loader is equipped with the LNS Soft Touch loading system, which uses a servomotor to automatically adjust speed, torque, acceleration and deceleration for travel and positioning at high speeds. It automatically feeds to length without losing contact between the pusher and the barstock.

The feeder is equipped with three pushers (6, 12 and 19 mm), a self-contained 26" (660 mm) magazine tray that enables long production runs and unattended operation, and standard X-axis and optional Z-axis retraction for E-Z change spindle liners changeovers and machine maintenance.

The Alpha ST320 S2 and ST 212 S2 are both automatic magazine bar feeders for sliding headstock turning machines. Both bar feeders share a number of characteristics including a one-piece, extruded aluminum profile-guiding frame mounted on a steel structure integrating the drive chain and channel cover. Both machines include an automatic, two-position, pneumatically actuated hydrostatic front stabilizer with V-shaped guiding elements to damp residual vibrations.

The ST320 S2 loads barstock diameters ranging from 0.125" to 0.787" (3 to 20 mm, or 25 mm with bar preparation) and bar length ranging from 39" to 12' (12' 6" maximum), while the Alpha ST212 S2 features a dual-directional screw loading mechanism for bar diameters ranging from 0.078" to 0.470" (2 to 12 mm) and bar lengths 39" to 12' (12' 6" maximum).

LNS 3-S headstock synchronization for very small bars and soft material is standard on Alpha ST212 S2 and optional for Alpha ST320 S2.
