The Edge Technologies' Patriot Series is a 12' magazine bar feeder for the production turning industry. The Patriot automatically feeds round, square and hexagonal barstock in lengths of as much as 12.5' into CNC lathes. The Patriot 338 feeds stock in a diameter range of 3 to 38 mm and the Patriot 551 in a range of 5 to 51 mm.

This bar feeder features a hand-held remote pendant and a touchscreen with menu-driven parameters. It has memory storage for as many as 36 jobs and the diagnostics and troubleshooting are run from the same control screen.

During cutting operations, the barstock rotates in polyurethane guide channels that are flooded with oil to create a hydrodynamic effect, resulting in higher RPM with reduced noise and vibration. As a standard feature on the Patriot 338 and an option on the 551, the Swiss package includes a synchronization device and telescopic noise. The synchronization device employs an electromagnetic coupling, mechanically linking the lathe headstock's z-axis travel to the bar feeder's pusher to ensure synchronous movement and no loss of connection between the barstock and collet-pusher.
