The Mini Shaft small boring bars from Seco Tools Inc. feature replaceable cutting heads with a serrated link between insert and toolholder. The double serration joint provides accuracy of ± 0.0008 and reduces machining time of small components.
The bars are available in two sizes to be used in holes as small as 0.315" (8 mm). The bars are available in steel and carbide with through-coolant capacity. The same bar can be used with right- and left-handed inserts. The system is designed for internal turning, grooving, precision grooving, profiling, backfacing and threading applications.
