VX Corporation offers VX Version 14.4 of its CAD/CAM software. The release includes customer-driven enhancements and is said to improve overall product performance.

 

A primary advantage of the software is its ability to streamline design through manufacturing, the company says. To contribute to this objective, the software features a new cosmetic external thread feature with accurate engineering data for proper detailing.

 

The software also offers STL tools to support growth in 3D printing. One such tool, STL export, can automatically close an open shape. The company says this capability is important for users that work with imported or scan data. Additionally, users can convert meshes to surface patches. This allows access to the full set of modeling commands to fix spikes, twists, inverted triangles and openings without a separate editor.
