Scientific Cutting Tools offers a complete line of PCD boring bars for abrasive non-ferrous materials and CBN for hard ferrous metal – 45RC plus.
PCD tipped boring bars provide excellent tool life for abrasive, nonferrous metals such as silicon aluminum, ceramics and composites, according to the company. CBN tipped boring bars offer excellent tool life for abrasive cast iron and super alloys. They are said to excel on ferrous metals over 45RC. Both PCD and CBN provide longer tool life, higher machining feeds and speeds, better quality finishes and tighter tolerances, the company says.
