The line of automatic fire detection and suppression systems for CNC and EDM machines are designed to automatically detect and extinguish oil-based fires. The heart of the system is the linear heat detection tubing. The pressurized detection tubing bursts when it detects the heat radiated from a fire, which triggers the discharge of a fire extinguishing agent. The detection tubing is flexible for easy routing and can withstand the heat, dirt, oil and vibration inside a machine, the company says.

These systems are compatible with most commercially available extinguishing agents

including CO2 and environmentally friendly “clean” agents. These clean agents are non-toxic, leave no residue and will not contaminate lubricating oils or fluids.
