CNC Lathes With Milling Capability

Developed to provide milling capability as robust as a machining center, NL CNC lathes feature a milling motor inside the turret directly coupled to the milling tool. This design reduces tool spindle acceleration time by two-thirds and diminishes vibration and noise by one-half. Machining accuracy has been improved through increased rigidity and the measures taken to minimize the effects of heat displacement.

This design reduces tool spindle acceleration time by two-thirds and diminishes vibration and noise by one-half. Machining accuracy has been improved through increased rigidity and the measures taken to minimize the effects of heat displacement. One machine in the series, the NL2500Y, has a turning capacity that handles a 14" diameter and 27.7" length. The lathe is in the 10" chuck size class and commands a maximum bar work diameter of 3.1". The inclusion of the 4" Y-axis movement further extends flexibility, providing off-center machining.
