The new T2000Z is said to be an excellent grade for high speed finishing in steel applications. This grade is a solution for applications where cermet is too brittle and carbide wears rapidly. It possesses very high heat resistant properties and toughness. The T2000Z is coated with Sumitomo's ZX coating technology that creates an ultra smooth, coated cutting edge. Features of the ZX technology include high hardness, oxidation resistance, smooth coating surface, high strength, excellent peeling resistance. The new coating and substrate reduce both tool wear and breakage. The smooth ZX coated cutting edges are said to provide a superb surface finish. The new T2000Z is available in both negative and positive rake geometries with high quality chip breakers.
