Command Tooling Systems' line of DR (ER) 32 Shorty collet chucks for tool shank diameters from 0.790" to 0.787". Because of their extremely short projection, users can maximize workpiece sizes.

The collet chucks are available in 40 V and 50 V styles to the ANSI V and 40 BT. The units feature a near flush collet nut that virtually eliminates tool overhang, improving accuracy while enhancing tool rigidity, the company says. Collet pockets are concentric to the spindle taper to 0.0002". TIR precisely placing the tool on the spindle centerline. Taper tolerances are AT3 or better.

These collet chucks have a recessed nosepiece design resulting in a short gage length, according to the company. This makes the tool especially useful for small vertical machining centers and multiplex turning machines.
