The 2160 Rotary Broach Head is compact and is designed to reduce setup time on CNC Swiss-type screw machines and lathes with gang tooling. According to the company, this design eliminates the need to indicate the broach to center, making setups faster and easier. The broach holder fits into machines without loosing adjacent ID stations. The head diameter is 1.10" and the head length is 2.42", making it possible to use subspindle applications where there is limited space. Each holder has an extra long shank, eliminating the need to add a bushing, thereby reducing vibration, increasing rigidity and providing better tool life, the company says. This design also allows for modification to suit specific machines and applications. The broach head can withstand as much as 2,200 lbs of push force because of a special bearing design. The broach head is stocked in shank sizes of 16 mm, 20 mm, 22 mm and 25 mm as well as 5/8", 3/4" and 1" diameters. Diameters of 12 mm and 14 mm are available upon request.
