The H274 toolholders with shank dimensions ½”, 5/8” and 10-, 12-, 14- and 16-mm square are standard and feature a precision machined insert pocket. The parallelogram format of the S274 inserts provides for two repeatable indexable cutting edges (± 0.0006”) screw clamped in the holders.

Indexable inserts of Type S274 for grooving and parting off allow groove depths as large as 0.236” and groove widths from 0.020” mm to 0.078”. Specialized parting off inserts have a parting off chamfer of 15 degrees with a cutting width of 0.031” to 0.078” at depths of as much as 0.236”. Inserts for back turning make possible cutting depths as high as 0.236”. Full profile metric threads can be cut with pitches from 0.5 to 1.5 mm.

The various indexable inserts are available in the coated carbide grade TH35. There are also non-coated indexable inserts in the product range for longitudinal turning or back turning brass parts.
