Constant Speed Tapping

For high-production tapping, Tapmatic constant speed tapping is designed to eliminate machine reversals and relies on a compact tapping head to provide tap reversal. The machine spindle runs in one direction at the exact programmed speed and reversal occurs within the tapping head instantaneously upon machine retraction.  The holes per minute (hpm) rate will be achieved, and by avoiding rpm fluctuation, common to machine reversal tapping, tap life will also be increased.

By eliminating wear caused by machine reversal in high-production applications, the user saves thousands of dollars on spindle replacements and downtime, and constant speed tapping uses only one-fourth as much electrical power.

The tapping units are available with a variety of shanks, capacities and tapping holding systems and with or without coolant through.
