Horn USA offers its S100 cutting insert in the HP65 coating grade, featuring 3V geometry and measuring 3 mm (0.118") wide. Specifically designed for grooving and parting-off stainless steels, the insert’s TiAlN coating resists heat and wear. Coolant is discharged directly from the chipbreaker of the insert. The funnel-shaped nozzle creates an internal coolant jet, which works directly on the cutting zone to reduce the formation of buildup and chipping of the cutting edge. Horn also offers the S100 cutting insert in the AS45 carbide grade with EN geometry and a chip former to promote chip flow and sustain tool life even with long engagement times or at high temperatures. Toolholders featuring internal cooling are available in both right- and left-handed versions with self-clamping or screw-down clamping to simplify insert replacements.
