Optical Gaging Products’ new hardware and software for its SmartScope Flash 200 multisensor metrology system, can be outfitted with a touch probe, laser and/or micro-probes for complete part characterization in a single setup. Tactile probing measures difficult to image features, while a through the lens (TTL) laser adds non-contact surface contouring. Feather Probe and Rainbow Probe offer micro-probing capabilities for miniature, delicate and sensitive components. The sensors can be configured with the right sensors for almost any application, so the system can measure a range of medical parts of virtually any material, softness, opacity or color.
The system has a 200 mm × 200 mm × 150 mm XYZ measurement volume to accommodate a range of parts and fixtures. All stage motion and magnification changes are motor driven and programmable for automatic measurement.
The SmartScope has an LED backlight that tracks the optics with no moving parts; a SmartRing surface light with multiple sectors/rings of white LEDs that allow control of light intensity, angle and direction at a fixed working distance; a TTL coaxial surface illuminator; and an LED grid projector for accurate video focus on polished, highly reflective parts.
