The company will be previewing the 2011 release of Mastercam Swiss Expert and will also offer the Mastercam X5. Its new 3D surface high speed OptiRough toolpath is a technique designed to remove large amounts of material quickly using its dynamic milling motion.
Hybrid finishing, another new technique, blends two cutting techniques in a single tool path. Mastercam lets users choose the basic type of work using clear illustrations, and then gives a clear, step-by-step process for defining how to cut the part. The multi-axis machining also includes a new highly specialized interface for smooth, gouge-free engine head porting.
Dynamic milling constantly adjusts the tool path to ensure the most efficient cut possible and allows use of the entire tool flute length, often eliminating the need for multiple depth cuts.
