Dapra Corporation has almost doubled their offering of toroid cutting tools by adding 12 shell mills in ODs from 2" through 8". For maximum versatility, four insert geometries--round, square, high feed and octagonal--are available for toroid cutters. The new octagonal inserts have eight-sided geometry for excellent general face milling capabilities, the company says. Their 45-degree lead angle provides increased feed capacity for face milling, profiling, helical interpolation and chamfering. In order to simplify the matching of the various-shaped inserts with specific cutter bodies, the company provides "R-value" designations, which can be found on each cutter body. The insert and cutter body R-values can be matched for compatibility.
