Toyoda Machinery has added two new high-speed linear way machines to its vertical machining line. The new machines are designed to deliver high performance and extreme precision in high-speed applications. The company states these machines offer high accuracy, thermal stability, and maximum vibration dampening characteristics.

The new machines rely upon a rigid Meehanite cast iron base that offers higher density and uniform soundness over traditional cast iron, giving the casting greater tensile strength and maximum vibration-dampening capabilities. A Fanuc 18i CNC features a large color LCD display with manual guide conversational programming. The high performance spindle and automatic tool changer technology can improve machine operability and part throughput over previous VMC generations, according to the company.
