The GY grooving system from Mitsubishi Carbide offers features to optimize rigidity and accuracy for grooving applications. A system designed for flexibility of applications while maintaining overall strength comparable to a monoblock-type holder can be attributed to a Tri-Lock system of securing a modular blade from three directions, ensuring rigidity, the company says. One toolholder can accept various blades, making this tool versatile in addition to improving tool management.
Insert keys and convex geometry features are beneficial to clamping methods achieving precision cutting and longer tool life. A variety of insert chipbreakers and cBN product are offered as stock items.
