Emuge Corp. has expanded its Full-Speed Tapping program with the addition of full-speed taps designed in ten new styles.
The taps allow fast tapping at speeds on modern CNC equipment, according to the company. These taps use designs that promote more free, more efficient cutting and speed, the company says. The taps feature a cutting geometry that reduces friction between the workpiece and the tool. High profile relief angles are designed to increase tapping speeds, reduced heat and provide longer tool life. An optimized number and shape of flutes, a shorter thread length, hard surface coatings and coolant-through technology also contribute to tap performance.
The ten styles of taps are available in 20 different sizes, in both inches and millimeters.
