A new, low-cost series of portable, hand-held ID/OD gages is designed specifically for measuring hard-to-reach dimensions not accessible to conventional hand tools such as calipers and micrometers. The 838T Series is useful for measuring parts with difficult clearances, such as the insides of bottles, deep internal grooves, the wall thickness of a can or of a piece of tubing. The 838T Series consists of a family of mechanical and digital gages for checking small IDs ranging from 0.1" (2.5 mm) to 2" (50 mm). Measurements are made quickly and easily by squeezing the gage's scissor grip. Within the series there are six styles, each with a different set of measurement arms and contact points. Within each style several models are available to cover a wide range of sizes. The gages are available in either a mechanical readout or a digital version with a large display and electronic output for SPC data output.
