The ND300 is a four-axis, CNC-controlled inspection system that can measure gears, splines, worms and gear cutting tools. Using non-contact, linear motor technology and a crash protected precision scanning probe head, the ND300 measures profile total, form and slope/angle; helix-tooth alignment (lead) total, form and slope/angle; pitch, index, spacing and pitch-line runout; tooth thickness and size over/under pins; Datum geometry roundness, form, runout and other features per ANSI and ISO geometric standard callouts.
The system's software uses a true Windows design that includes dialog boxes, menus and single keystroke and context-sensitive help files. Operators can set up and run the system within minutes and the fully automated inspection process frees operators to run other jobs. Standing on a sturdy granite base, the rigid mechanical design does not require air. Fewer moving parts and non-contact axes motion create smoother operation and more reliable results, the company says.
