Glacern Machine Tools’ CNC vise, the Glacern modular vise (GMV), offers flexibility with a versatile design that allows fast setups in three modes. The GMV can replace three conventional vises while improving machine clearances and offering a quick-change mounting system.

The interchangeable mounting pin system allows easy conversion from double- to single-station use. Then, it added exclusive features that make it a uniquely flexible tool. The movable center jaw allows a choice of three index points that gives the operator as much as 1.75” of additional capacity.

Removing the center jaw offers the option of two single-station configurations. Fixing the rear jaw creates a conventional single-station vise, while a fixed front jaw yields a reverse single-station configuration.

Unlike convertible vises that require an external plate, the GMV maintains the same compact footprint in all modes.

Also maintaining the compact profile is the company’s SquareDrive, a half-inch socket built into a completely sealed vise screw, flush against the surface. That saves space when clearances are tight, and it lets you use your choice of any half-inch drive wrench or a conventional vise handle.

In addition, Glacern’s quick-change cage lock system offers the efficiency of zero-point mounting in a simple, cost-effective design.
