The AC830P for interrupted steel turning by Sumitomo Electric Carbide combines a tough substrate with a newly designed Super FF coating structure to substantially increase the wear resistance compared to conventional P30 material grades. The grade's wear resistance not only exceeds conventional P30 coated carbide grades, its toughness outperforms conventional P20 grades, the company says.

The grade is available in a multitude of geometries coupled with chipbreakers capable of machining light to heavy depths of cuts. The AC830P grade, along with the precision-engineered EGE chipbreakers, excels in applications where a tough edge is needed. The EGE allows for as much as 0.024 ipr.
