The company will display a new, low-cost series of portable, hand-held ID/OD gages designed specifically for measuring hard-to-reach dimensions not accessible to conventional hand tools such as calipers and micrometers. The 838T Series is useful for measuring parts with difficult clearances, such as the insides of bottles, deep internal grooves, the wall thickness of a can or of a piece of tubing. This series consists of a family of mechanical and digital gages for checking small IDs ranging from 0.1" (2.5 mm) to 2" (50 mm). Measurements are made quickly and easily by squeezing the gage's scissor grip. There are six styles, each with a set of measurement arms and contact points. Within each style several models are available to cover a wide range of sizes. The gages are available in either a mechanical readout or a digital version with a large display and electronic output for SPC data output. Also on display will be the new 832 Digital Dimensionair air gaging system that incorporates the advanced 832 Digital Electronic Amplifier for increased measuring flexibility and productivity. The new product is also compatible with a wider range of air gage tooling than the Digital Dimensionair, which it replaces. It is extremely accurate and may be used for high- and low-magnification applications. A full line of standard and customized tooling, including taper plugs, straightness plugs, squareness fixtures and flatness fixtures may be purchased. A differential version of the system is available for match gaging applications. The large readout is capable of displaying information in a digital or analog format. A wide range of keypad accessible features includes tolerances, presets, actual values and so on. Features such as auto-calibration, auto-zero and master offset calibration make the unit exceptionally easy to set up and use. The unit will output a signal to activate warning lights and other equipment. The user can switch readily between English and metric units. Other new products on display include the Perthometer S2 portable surface measurement system and the MMQ 44 Formtester, the latest addition to the Formtester family of high-precision radial measurement machines.

Flexible Gage Software Integrates with CNC Machine Tools

EMO 2017: Renishaw will exhibit its software for the Equator flexible gauge, which allows users to fully integrate the system with CNC machine tools, its contact scanning system for CNC machine tools, its on-machine and mobile apps which are designed to simplify the use of machine tool probing, an enhanced non-contact tool setter for machining centers, a multi-probe optical interface system, a surface finish probe for coordinate measuring machines, and software that enhances the functionality of Renishaw’s XM-60 multi-axis calibration system.
