The Urma CircoTec RX reamer features a faster feed rate, longer tool life and ease of use over comparable reaming systems, according to the company. The reamers are available in a large diameter range from 0.468" (11.9 mm) to 3.960" (100.9 mm), making them suitable for applications with tight hole tolerance requirements. The new design makes changeover and setup easy. The cutting inserts are easy to change, eliminating complete tool disassembly and the need for further adjustments with every changeover. Downtime is significantly decreased, while throughput is greatly increased. The reamers are available in both straight shank and the Beta Module system with adjustable tool length. The cutting inserts are designed with multiple cutting edges, which provide faster speeds and feed rates with repeatability of less than four microns in run-out. Carbide or cermet inserts are available uncoated or with the option of various coatings to meet specific manufacturing requirements.
