This automatic inspection machine sorts small parts based on pre-programmed dimensional tolerances such as length, width, diameter and so on. Employing a convinient bowl feeder, high speed camera and Resec's other technology, the sorter inspects each part and automatically places it into an "accept" or "reject" bin. The machine inspects and sorts up to 10,000 parts per hour with an accuracy of ± 0.0001". Several models are offered for parts ranging in size from 1/4" to 2".
With the Model J192 ShadowGage Flat Platen Sorter, parts are easily fed by a vibratory bowl feeder (or conveyor) onto a rotating glass platen, which separates and individually positions them in front of the camera to create a precise top view; an optional second camera can capture a side view. By using both top and side views, the platen sorter can, for example, measure out-of-round and concetricity characteristics as well as the axial profile of a round part.
The measurements are performed by a video processor, which captures the images of each part, meausres the pre-programmed features, checks them against the programmed standards, and then controls an air blast to place the part in the "accept" or "reject" bin.
