Options include 8,000 rpm/50 hp and 16,000-rpm/50-hp spindles. The new machine's 11.5-ton base and column are extremely rigid in construction and were designed specifically to accommodate the high level of torque.

Although the machine's overall dimensions are compact, it features a larger work area, longer tool length and axes strokes than the previous model. The HCN 8800-II has a maximum work size of 57.09" × 57.09" and a maximum workpiece weight of 4,850 lbs.

Its strokes are 55.12" on the X axis (3.94" longer than the previous model), 47.24" on the Y (3.94" longer) and 52.17" on the Z. Linear roller guides on each axis ensure straight, low-friction movements.

With rapid traverse rates of 2,362 ipm (60 m/min.), acceleration/deceleration at 0.5 G, a tool change time of 5.0 seconds and a maximum tool length of 34.8" (630 mm), the HMC has the flexibility to deliver increased productivity across a range of industries and applications.
