Hollow Mill

The Tangi-square Hollow Mill is said to be able to improve the turning operations on CNC, Davenport, and other screw machines. The new product was designed to hold replaceable carbide inserts instead of carbide or HSS tool bits. Not only are the Somma inserts replaceable and easy to change, but they are also the same "Tangi-Square" inserts that are productive on the Accu-Set Tangi-Square turning tool.

There is minimal down time to change the insert when it's dull, there are four right hand cutting edges, and the inserts cut tangentially instead of radially. Insert slides are supplied for turning diameters 1/8" to 3/8", and for 3/8" to 5/8" using standard Somma TSQ00 style Tangi-Square inserts. The insert slides are interchangeable, and a micrometer dial screw makes adjustments of all three insert slides simultaneously. The maximum insert depth of cut is 3/16" maximum (3/8" on diameter), and the holder is available with a drill bushing hole in the shank for turning and drilling operations.
