The ML-2000 honing machine offers bore sizing and finishing technology for job shop and mid-volume production applications. The machine can run Sunnen's multi-stone mandrels (TurboHone series) and has twice the power and more speed than older Sunnen MBC-style honing machines. According to the company, with a computer control, it is easier to set up and changing belts or pulleys is eliminated. The machine is designed for easy maintenance with a simplified coolant system. Zero shutoff is standard.
The ML-2000 is a cost-efficient alternative to ID grinding and other finishing process, the company says and with fast stock removal rates, preliminary reaming, boring or grinding can be eliminated on many operations.
