The CocoCut XS from Sandvik Coromant is designed to produce precision-turned components with diameters as small as 1 mm. The insert allows for productivity gains in high volume production and is precision ground to contain sharp edges. According to the company, this ensures the tightest possible tolerances in external machining operations, such as grooving, threading, parting and turning.  The insert has a grooving width of 0.5 mm and a parting width of only 0.7 mm.
