Linear Drive Automatic Lathes

The automatic lathes of the DMG Sprint Linear Series are designed for smaller to medium-sized batches of short-turned parts with up to a 1. 65" diameter. The machines increased dynamics with accelerations of up to 1 g and higher rapid traverse speeds of up to 1.

The automatic lathes of the DMG Sprint Linear Series are designed for smaller to medium-sized batches of short-turned parts with up to a 1.65" diameter. The machines increased dynamics with accelerations of up to 1 g and higher rapid traverse speeds of up to 1.574 ipm.

The series incorporates a machining concept that integrates the main and countermotor spindles (both with y axes) and provides a linear tool carrier with the capabilities for up to 12 tools (optional 24 tools). With this concept in place, three tools can operate along six axes. Once complete, the counterspindle transports the finished workpiece out of the work area, all while feeding the next bar length into the machine, thus reducing idle and overall production times.
