DMG America Inc. offers the Ultrasonic 20 linear, a linear machine that is suitable for a spectrum of applications in sectors such as hard machining and HSC-milling. The machine incorporates a cast-mineral base in the monoBlock design to absorb vibration while yielding the stability required for such applications.

The machine, which offers a repeat accuracy of  0.00004", is available with a range of expansion options to accomplish four- or five-axis machining. In addition, a torque motor in the C-axis, as well as servomotors in the A axis, are said to afford flexibility. Linear drives provide 1.4 g acceleration in XYZ axes, and a water-cooled, USB 40 spindle operates at speeds as high as 40,000 rpm.
