The UNISIG UNE6 is a compact gundrilling machine used for drilling deep holes with smaller diameters. The machine’s counter rotating workpiece headstock specifically designed for small parts greatly enhances concentricity. Holes can have diameters as small as 0.039" (1 mm) with diameter-to-depth ratios beyond 100 to 1.

The UNE6 is well suited for medical components such as bone screws and surgical instruments that require the precision drilling of small-diameter deep holes into high strength titanium or surgical-grade stainless steel.

Like all of the company’s machines, the UNE6 is engineered and manufactured in the United States with high performance components, the company says. It features cast iron headstock and chip box components, cartridge spindles with premium quality bearings and a high precision preloaded ballscrew feed.
