Single Source Technologies has launched NS Tool's micro drill series, featuring drill diameters of 0.01 mm in regular (10 × D) and short (6 × D) length micro drills, as well as micro point drills.
The micro drills have been developed with NS Tool's Mugen micro coating, a special thin, smooth and uniform coating development to allow for excellent drilling performance on steels (including stainless steels), the company says. These high precision micro drills allow new drilling capabilities with features such as thinning to reduce cutting force, enabling increased accuracy while drilling.
The Mugen coated drills include series NSMD-M, NSMD-MS and NSPD-M and are made to accompany the original micro drill series.
The micro tools also include square and ball end mills that start at 0.1-mm diameter. All tools in the micro series are made of super micro grain carbide, handling longer processing periods and reduced thermal growth.
