Mitutoyo’s Surftest Probe and Surfpak-SP software allows surface roughness analysis on a Mitutoyo CNC CMM and eliminates the need for workpiece change-over to a second measurement device.

An auto-joint probe system allows probe changing automatically between touch trigger and/or scanning probes with the Surftest Probe, combining dimensional evaluation and surface finish analysis in a single operation. A PH10M or 10MQ articulating probe head allows access to features requiring rotation for surface roughness measurement. The system integrates two well-developed software packages to provide a comprehensive solution. The modular design of Mitutoyo MCOSMOS coordinate measurement software allows seamless integration of Surfpak-SP software to perform surface roughness analysis while the Geopak module of MCOSMOS controls the Surftest Probe movement and calibration functions. Available detectors include: standard-type, deep groove, small hole, extra-small hole and gear tooth surface. The CMM Surftest Probe has multiple measurement ranges and speeds.

Flexible Gage Software Integrates with CNC Machine Tools

EMO 2017: Renishaw will exhibit its software for the Equator flexible gauge, which allows users to fully integrate the system with CNC machine tools, its contact scanning system for CNC machine tools, its on-machine and mobile apps which are designed to simplify the use of machine tool probing, an enhanced non-contact tool setter for machining centers, a multi-probe optical interface system, a surface finish probe for coordinate measuring machines, and software that enhances the functionality of Renishaw’s XM-60 multi-axis calibration system.
