Multi-Axis Turn/Mill Center

Mori Seiki’s MT2500SZ multi-axis turning center integrates the capabilities of both a lathe and a machining center. The machine accommodates small and complex workpieces requiring machining on all sides as well as highly accurate machining of workpieces that mainly involve turning.  The main spindle’s oil-cooled base ensures thermal stability throughout extended operation.

With the adoption of a zero-center subspindle, the machine minimizes the displacement of the subspindle center position and raises machining accuracy.

The machine also helps achieve a lean manufacturing environment through the ability to finish parts in one setup, thus eliminating all work-in-process. It has a standard 8,000-rpm (optional 12,000-rpm) tool spindle that is moved ±4.5" on the Y axis.  The tool spindle can be positioned over a range of ±120 degrees in 0.001-degree increments using the B-axis. Tool magazine options range from 20 to 180 tools.
